High Rope Adventure Elements

All CMRCA curriculums are custom-build to suit the needs of our clients.

Most programs include elements of outdoor adventure, leadership, and intercultural experience. We are excited to work together with your school or organization to craft a program that aligns with your group's academic and personal goals.

High rope activities give participants a challenge and opportunity to face difficult decisions through abseiling / rappelling, tyrolean traverses and rope bridges. These wild rope elements give participants a new perspective of the area they visit and help them to achieve previously impossible tasks, allowing them to grow as they complete each new activity.

Experienced rock climbing instructors and facilitators help students cultivate an acute awareness of their thoughts, feelings and surroundings, using the fundamental skill of rappelling as an emotional anchor to moments of extreme excitement. Programs begin with a practice rappel before moving on to bigger and more challenging rope elements.

Our big rappel gives students the opportunity to rappel 55 meters into the mouth of a monstrous cave. The group provides a positive support structure for each student as they make their way to the bottom of the cave.

During our Tyrolean Traverse cave program, students pull themselves across the enormous Anxiety State Crisis Cave. This unforgettable experience is followed by an exhilarating 35 meter free hanging rappel to the floor of the cave. Students are awed by the wild cave geology that surrounds them and finish this exciting program with a leisurely walk out of the bottom cave entrance.

TestimonialsHear from our past adventurers

The learning is often life-changing

For the last five years Yew Chung International School of Shanghai (YCIS) has been bringing our Year 12 students to work with Chiang Mai Rock Climbing Adventure (CMRCA) and the service they provide is truly exceptional!!! I have worked with loads of organisations through my role as the CAS Coordinator and Field Trip Coordinator and CMRCA is the best in so many areas including:

Equipments and Facilities – All aspects including climbing gear, transport, lunch, merchandise and of course the Crazy Horse Buttress are superb.

Safety and Care – All guides are well trained and extremely diligent when it comes to the safety of the students. Guides are extremely observant, kind, considerate and caring and address both the physical and emotional needs of the students.

Education – The learning that occurs within the students that participate (and ALL my students participate) is massive and often life-changing. Students learn a great deal about rock-climbing, caving and abseiling, about the geography and geology, about Thai culture, about team-work, about their individual strengths and weaknesses, about goal-setting, about supporting others, about trust and about overcoming fears. The learning is enormous and as a teacher – this is what I am primarily looking for in during a school outing.

Fun – The guides are outstanding and know how to make each person enjoy the experience, have a laugh, smile and claim some form of personal victory.

Guides and Leaders – The CMRCA crew are second to none!

I strongly recommend taking students through the CMRCA programme and believe whole-heartedly that the students, their parents and the teachers will not be disappointed but rather they will be blown away!

CMRCA is the best!

Second to None

The Visiting Schools Program, (VSP) part of the Traidhos Three-Generation Community for Learning (PTIS) has been successfully providing experiential education student trips to northern Thailand for ten years, and we are very proud to have worked with Chiang Mai Rock Climbing Adventures for seven of those years.

Our VSP groups come from all over the world to participate in a wide range of activities, all of which engage students to challenge themselves, broaden their perspectives, and promote personal growth.

Over the last seven years, many hundreds of students of all ages have visited Chiang Mai Rock Climbing Adventures (CMRCA) as part of their program with VSP, and without fail, CMRCA continuously provides premier climbing and caving experiences for our school groups.

When working with CMRCA, we are constantly assured by the superb delivery of the very high standards and thoroughness used throughout their program. The safety considerations and equipment, partnered with the excellent climbing training and student support are second to none. The passion and commitment of Josh Morris and all of the CMRCA staff shines through to inspire confidence in our student participants to face the demands of climbing and overcome them.

CMRCA creates a unique learning environment encouraging personal growth and exposure to challenge through the adventure of climbing and caving, but the experience and knowledge gained goes far beyond the rock face as students also learn the values of trust, support and working as a team.

A day climbing with CMRCA is very often one of the highlights of our student’s trip to Thailand, and we fully recommend without hesitation the skills and service that CMRCA offers, and thoroughly commend the personal learning and sense of achievement that each student takes from this memorable experience.

A Safe And Supportive Environment

The American Community School of Abu Dhabi took a trip to Chiang Mai with 85 8th grade students and their chaperones. We spent two unforgettable days with CMRCA caving and rock climbing.

The staff were professional and knowledgeable while they guided our students through the caving and rock climbing activities. The students were encouraged to explore their physical and mental limits in a safe and supportive environment.

Without exaggeration, our time with CMRCA was the highlight of our trip for the vast majority of the students on the trip. We will be back next year!
